AN ALDERMAN ARRESTED.
John S. Maden Charged With Assault

John S. Madden, the real estate agent.
was arrested yesterday afternoon by
Sergeant Doherty and Detective Ward
of the Grand avenue precinct, on a
warrant charging him with assaulting
his wife last Wednesday; The trouble
is alleged to have occurred In a lot ad
joining the Madden home on Beacon
street.
The complaint against him was made
by a brother of Mrs. Madden. Madden
is alderman from the Fifteenth ward.
He was released yesterday afternoon
under bonds of $500 furnished by Thomas F. Coyne.
Dr. Stephen J. Maher, who is attend
lng Mrs. Madden, said last evening that
her Injuries were not of a serious na
ture.
