Charles Hairston Hanged
Richmond. VA. June 20.—Charles Hairston. colored, was hanged at Martinsville.
Henry county, this morning for attempted
criminal assault on a young lady. Contrary to expectation there was no attempt
of rescue or anticipation of legal execution by lynching. The condemned man
was taken to Martinsville Under r a military guard and the hanging passed off quietly.
