Arson in the Beatrice Daily Express, 1900&1920

Out of State/International Crime

Of the 18 out of state crimes reported, there are 2 international crimes reported. Out of state stories tended to be more sensationalized, oftentimes reporting arson alongside other charges, serial arsons, or a particularly violent setting such as a riot turned arson.

The Beatrice Daily Express does not usually report on international crimes unless they are incredibly sensationalized, either by celebrity status or magnitude of the crime. For the international arson cases being reported, there was a serial arsonist that burnt down hundreds of residences in Ottowa, Canada and a murder/arson at an American military base where U.S. citizens were killed in Manila, Phillipines.
