Description
Young Lady Waylaid and Insuited by a Mere Boy. MARIETTA, O., Jan. 5.—Mlss Nellie Morris, a beautiful and accomplished young lady of 19 years, was brutally assaulted at Hackney, Morgan County, yesterday. While returning home from the postoffice, Miss Morris was accosted by Walter A. Weinstock, a young man of 18, who lives near her home. The girl started to run, but the man drew a razor and cut her across the neck, inflicting a terrible wound. A struggle ensured, during which Miss Morris was terribly cut. Her cries of help attracted the attention of a crowd of people, who immediately seized the brute and bound him hand and foot. Police assistance was immediately sent for, but some talk of lynching was heard. Weinstock has just finished a term in the reform school, which he served a a punishment for the attempted murder of his father, who is a wealthy and prominent farmer.
