The case was heard in the Police Court today and the defendant denied that he committed the theft. Judge Kimball held him guilty and imposed a penalty of $20 or sixty days. The prisoner was fined $5, with the privilege of spending fifteen days in jail. Joseph Burrell, colored, admitted that he was dealing in junk in an illegal way when he was arrested. He was coming out of the Baltimore and Ohio freight yard with a bag of Iron on his back when an officer deprived him of his liberty.
