SAY COUNTERFEITERS SLEW BARREL VICTIM
NEW YORK, July 18.—By the arrest in Brooklyn yesterday of six Italians accused of counterfeiting, United States Service detectives believe that light may be thrown on the recent barrel murder mystery, as well as upon an elaborate scheme to swindle Brooklyn merchants. It is believed by the detectives that Bendetto, the Italian whose body was found in a barrel on the East Side last April, was closely connected with a band of counterfeiters who have for some time flooded this borough as well as cities in New Jersey with spurious bank notes.
