Description
Murderously Assaults Another Child to Get Some Cake.

Lille, France, Dec. 3. A great sensation has been caused in Armentierres, nine miles northwest of Lille, by a crime committed by a child upon another two years of age. Valentine Dilly, the daughter of poverty-stricken parents, saw a baby girl in the street holding a cake. She endeavored to take it from the infant, and when the latter resisted, dragged her into the house, forced her into a trunk, stabbed her in the arms and legs a dozen times, and inflicted terrible wounds in the stomach with a shoemaker's knife. The infant is not expected to recover. Valentine at first accused a brother of the crime, but finally confessed.
