Description
Joseph A. Kelly, a Manhattan stock broker living at No. 772 Lenox Road, Brooklyn, was excused today as a prospective juror in the trial of Jesse Walker, nineteen, in the Criminal Branch of the Brooklyn Supreme Court on an indictment for first degree murder. "In my opinion," said Kelly, "no man comes to his senses and looks upon life in the proper perspective until he is at least twenty eight years old. That is my own age, and I am just coming to my senses. I do not believe this boy, could be guilty of intentional murder. It is charged that with two other former sailors, one a deserter, Walker entered the candy shop of Samuel Wolchak at No. 208 Wychoff Avenue, Brooklyn, on March 11, 1919, and when Wolchak failed to throw up his hands when told to do so shot and killed him.
