WELL, HE TELLS HOW ASSAULTED
Leonard, Recovered From Fractured Skull, Says Frank Attacked Him
Accused Now Under Arrest
Charged with assault and battery on Thomas Leonard who was found wandering about the streets on May 8 with a fractured skull, Euthos Frank, keeper of a restaurant at the southeast corner of Second and Union streets, was arrested this afternoon.
Leonard was released yesterday from the Physicians and Surgeons' Hospital.
At the time Leonard was found wandering in the street, he was sent to his home at 120 North Scott Street. Later Dr. I. Lewis Chipman had him sent to the hospital. Leonard's skull was found to be fractured and he was in a serious condition for ten days. When he recovered sufficiently to talk, Leonard declared Frank had attacked and beaten him.
Chief Detective Sergeant Bonson swore out a warrant for Frank, and
Detectives McDannell and Mahoney arrested him at 12.30 this afternoon.
