- HELD FOR GRAND JURY ON CHARGE. Philip Slobodien, of Carteret. Charged with assaulting Nathan Roth, Sunday night, during a celebration in Kentucky Hall, waived a hearing and is held for the grand jury. Slobodien is said to have struck Roth on the head with a beer glass, inflicting deep scalp wounds.
