Description
Samuel Michalow of No. 62 Pike Street, on stand to-day in Justice Tompkin's Court where he is being tried for the murder of Mrs. Elizabeth Niznick of Yonkers, denied knowing anything about the murder or knowing Mrs. Niznick. The justice denied a motion to direct the jury to acquit on the ground that Michalow was not in Yonkers at the time of the crime. Michalow said he had first seen Max [...] yesterday confessed to taking part in the murder and charged Michalow with instructing him for the crime, in a saloon brawl in Madison Street, Manhattan, last July. He said Lipp knew Lipp was against him because in White Plains jail Lipp lowered a square of black cloth in front of his cell and shouted: "Michalow, this is your funeral!"
