Murder in the Montgomery Advertiser, 1900 & 1920

Language Used

The language used in the Montgomery Advertiser was pretty mild, there was a lack of sensational language as when cases were being published they were done in an informational tone with little room for personal opinion. Bias language was not used (words like “negro” and colored” don’t count as that was how everyone at the time referred to black americans). The nice thing about that is that it leaves little room for bias and gives people the facts that are available.
