MACFARLAND SENT UP ON COUNTERFEITING CHARGE
NEW YORK, Nov. 14.—Allison MacFarland, once convicted of wife murder and then acquitted in a second trial, today was sentenced by Judge Hough, of the Federal court, to a year and six months in the Atlanta penitentiary.
MacFarland pleaded guilty to a charge of counterfeiting. He admitted that his scheme was that of perfecting a method of duplicating silver ornaments by wholesale and at a low cost. He declared he used the 50-cent piece merely as a basis for experiment, and not with any idea of counterfeiting money.
