Bestiality
Bestiality is the stranger side of sodomy laws. As sodomy was a law that concerned "the detestable and abominable vice of buggery committed with mankind or beast", cases of bestiality would have been included. However, given how strange such a crime was, details would be incredibly vague. They were so vague that no stories can conclusively be identified as featuring bestiality.
There were a handful of cases in Minnesota newspapers that seemed to be implying such a crime had occurred. These cases had a tendency to more frequently use the phrase "crime against nature" than others did. An interpretation of these crimes as bestiality has to come more from the context of the story as, once again, it is never explicitly stated anywhere that this was the type of sodomy the defendant was guilty of.
Please note that all of the stories provided below have a possibility of being about bestiality, and should not be regarded as such with complete certainty.
