Description
A negro man raided the jewelry store of Mr. J. W. Craze, No. 1300 Hull street, yesterday morning. The man went in the store, and seeing no one, went behind the counter and picked out four of the
best-looking timepieces. He made some noise in shutting the showcase. This attracted the attention of Mrs. Craze. She thought it was a customer, and came to the front. The man got to the middle of the store, and appeared to be anxious to make a purchase. He priced a number of articles, and then left, saying he would call in the evening. Mrs. Craze then noticed that the showcase was much disordered, and further examination disclosed the fact that four watches
were gone. The theft was reported to the police.
