Grover Simms, colored, of Philadelphia.
Pa., was committed to jail here on Tues
day last, charged with stealing a horse
valued at $l5O from Henry Butler, colored,
of Olney, this county, on Monday night.
He was captured in Washington city when
offering the horse for sale. Simms was
visiting the Olney neighborhood, where he
formerly lived, when the theft was com
mitted. He claimed Butler owed him S2O
for work performed and would not pay the
debt, and gave it as reason for taking the
animal.
