Rioting in The Perrysburg Journal (Ohio) 1880-1900

Nature of the Crime

There was no specific pattern that could be identified with the riots in terms of gender, race, or motives. Each one was a result of itd own circumstances and the riots had no impact on each other. The reasons behind the rioing included labor strikes, food strikes, political demonstrations, race relations, and simple altercations that led to a large mob. Many of the incidents did involve the police and obviously multiple rioters that were rarely identified . The riots did tend to occur in more urban environments, such as cities which tended to be much more densely  populated that rural areas. These aspects are the only variables that can be identified as being similar, however it is not evidence of a larger pattern when considering my research was an extremely small sample size.
