Political images

Two types of drawings by soldiers can be most clearly categorized as political: images of flags; and images of political leaders. Flags sometimes also appear in the context of military images - with cannons, soldiers, and ships - where their use as political symbols is less clear.

In addition, there are drawings of birds at some sites that observers perceive to be eagles and as such as political symbols. None of the examples are labeled, or appear unambiguously to be eagles.
