Affidavits

Adam used various affidavits to help support his request for his invalid pension. The first set of three are his own, under oath, words about his credibility, the second belong to a notary that must have known Adam, vouching for him. The last set of affidavits is from Adam as well is him officially stating that he never served in the military after he was discharged in 1863.

Unfortunately, all of the people that signed these affidavits, people who presumably were on amicable terms with Adam, were untraceable, much like the people that signed his muster rolls and medical documents. It is much more difficult to search initials than it is full names (which can be equally as difficult if the people lead quieter lives).
