Adam's Graffiti
Adam's unit, the 29th New York Infantry, spent most of Fall 1861 and Spring of 1862 in the Washington DC area and it was during this time that they stayed at Blenheim House. Because of Fairfax's close proximity to the capital, the town was integral to the defence of the city. Though the house was originally owned by Confederate sympathisers it was eventually abandoned and taken over by soldiers protecting Washington DC from a variety of different regiments.
